Travel essentials for Fiji

Adapters, plugs, tap water, tipping and health basics.

Power & adapters

No adapter needed

Fiji uses the same Type I plug and 240V supply as Australia. No adapter needed. Some older resorts have limited power points, so a small powerboard is handy.

240V, 50Hz

Tap water

Safe to drink

Tap water is treated and safe in Nadi, Denarau and Suva. On outer islands and in villages, stick to bottled or boiled water.

Staying connected

Good on Viti Levu and the main resort islands, limited on remote outer islands.

Vodafone Fiji and Digicel both support eSIM. Resort wi-fi is often slow and sometimes charged — a local eSIM is usually cheaper and faster.
